South Australia is travelling to the UK next month with its first-ever ‘Move to South Australia’ UK Roadshow, inviting skilled workers and professionals to relocate Down Under.
Led by the Department of State Development, the roadshow will showcase what it offers as a relocation destination, focused on career and lifestyle opportunities.
The Move to South Australia UK Roadshow follows independent research from Robert Walters, a leading recruitment and talent solutions firm.
The research found that 43% of UK residents who responded to the survey would consider relocating to South Australia, driven by the rising cost of living in the UK.
The findings also show that 50% of respondents are motivated by the promise of a better lifestyle, while the state’s strong employment prospects draw 41%.
The roadshow will focus on career and lifestyle opportunities and include representatives from key sectors, including construction, engineering, and public services.
Participating construction delegates will include SA Construct, Master Builders SA and Inspired Masonry, according to Roofing Today.
Employer sponsorship is the primary visa pathway participating employers use to secure a future workforce.
These sectors represent some of the most acute workforce shortages in South Australia. Attendees will have the chance to meet directly with employers looking to sponsor skilled professionals, government officials, and fellow UK migrants, gaining practical insights into the migration process and life in South Australia.
Led by the Skilled and Business Migration team at the Department of State Development, the roadshow will begin its tour of the UK on 11 October, visiting the following cities:
- London, Saturday 11 October
- Newport, Sunday 12 October
- Birmingham, Tuesday 14 October
- Manchester, Thursday 16 October
- Glasgow, Saturday 18 October.
