The renovation project saw local young people work alongside the VIY team to create a new roofed outdoor bar area for the rugby club
Toolstation joined forces with social enterprise Volunteer It Yourself (VIY) to transform the Wasps FC clubhouse at Twyford Avenue in West London.
The transformation follows the Red Roses' huge success after their historic Women’s Rugby World Cup 2025 victory against Canada.
Wasps FC, part of the local Ealing community, hosts the Wasps Women’s team, the men’s amateur team, and almost 20 teams of different ages and skills, including four girls’ teams at the U18, U16, U14, and U12 levels.
The renovation project saw local young people work alongside the VIY team to refurbish the amateur rugby club’s clubhouse, creating a brand-new roofed outdoor bar area so that players, families, and local fans can enjoy it all year round, and build greater financial resilience for the club.
As well as creating a sporting hub for the local community, the refurbishment empowers local people with trade and construction skills, giving them hands-on experience, industry accreditations, and the confidence to pursue future employment opportunities, while renovating a space they can enjoy and benefit from.
Through its partnership with Volunteer It Yourself (VIY), Toolstation helped create opportunities for young people to gain City & Guilds qualifications.
The project supported 13 young people not currently in education, employment, or training (NEET), who worked alongside professional VIY Trade.
Mentors to develop practical skills and confidence. As a result, 11 learners achieved City & Guilds accreditations in areas such as Paint Finishing Skills and Site Carpentry Skills.
