Quick acting electrician saves man's life with defibrillator, tradesman attacked by dog in client's home and plasterer crowned Britain's toughest tradie
Tradespeople are being encouraged to carry mobile defibrillators, after an electrician saved the life of a man who had collapsed after a cardiac arrest.
Dale Lee, a sparkie in Belfast for the last 14 years, only started carrying the defibrillator six months earlier after a family member had a heart attack.
The paramedics who attended the scene credited Lee’s quick actions with saving the man’s life.
The British Heat Foundation said that anyone can use a defibrillator, whether they have training or not.
The foundation said that the survival rate for a heart attack outside of hospital is fewer than one-in-10.
