Almost a third of tradespeople have considered quitting their job in the last 12 months due to long hours, claims a report.
The research from Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles found that, on average, tradies worked 9.44 hours a day.
That’s an increase of 51 minutes per day compared with data from 2022.
The long hours are having a disproportionate impact on 18-to-24-year-olds, with 45% saying they are ready to quit due to work pressure.

Chrach Pov had spent 30 years saving over $20,000 to build the unconventional home.
The structure, which is 20 metres long and 4 metres wide, boasts two bedrooms and two bathrooms.
The inspiration for the eccentric project came from Pov’s childhood dream of being a pilot.
