Coventry tool thieves get over four years each after crime spree, UK housing stock could be a cause of health emergency and electrician trains dog to fetch his tools
Two brothers were jailed for over four years each for a series of tool thefts that plagued Coventry earlier this year.
David and Patrick McDonagh were convicted earlier this month for a string of crimes that saw them steal tools and cause damage to vehicles worth more than £42,000.
The police made hundreds of hours of enquiries to identify the brothers.
Detective sergeant Jay Aston from Coventry Neighbourhood Crime Team said the “sentence sends a clear message that this kind of crime will not be tolerated in Coventry.”

The government has been warned that without changes to the existing housing stock, the UK is facing a growing health emergency, as the climate becomes more unpredictable.
A report from the Housing Commission of the Radix Big Tent think-tank, claims the country’s housing stock that is poorly insulated, damp and prone to over heating, costs society £18.5 billion a year.
The NHS alone spends £1.4 billion a year treating house-related illnesses.
