A tradesman from Grimsby was hit over the head with a blunt object and suffered head injuries after fighting off a would-be thief who was stealing tools from a parked van last Saturday. A trail of blood was left on the street and pavement on Daubney Street after the confrontation, with the tradesman forcing the thief to flee without taking any pieces of equipment. Fortunately the head injuries suffered were minor, with the man able to provide a description of the thief. Humberside Police went door-to door to get reports from witnesses and have opened an offical investigation into the incident as they aim to hunt down the man - appealing to the public for any information as reported by Grimsby Live. The poor guy got thumped over the head. "The police were here quickly but he had run off. Hopefully they can use some forensics and get the evidence to trace him.” (H/T Grimsby Live)
