New builds in the UK have a habit of making headlines and one major UK developer has been forced to make embarrassing alterations after discovering an error in construction that left several properties with balconies, window and doors ‘facing the wrong way’. With no one raising the alarm, a series of one, two and three-bedroom homes were constructed incorrectly with a number of features placed in the complete wrong location - forcing developer Persimmon Homes to address the blunder. The flats in Colchester were part of a new 262 property housing estate and had been on the market for sale already. They managed to get this so badly wrong 🤦♀️
(Via Mirror Money Saving) As reported by the Mirror, bewildered locals commented on the error, with Colchester Councillor Martin Goss saying "It just beggars belief. How on earth can a developer build a set of flats the wrong way? How can a national developer make such a major mistake?” "It's gone through a long process and a number of iterations to get where it is today but obviously they now need to build it to the agreed plan.” In a statement from Persimmon Homes, the developer said “We have made some limited alterations to the position of some windows during the early stages of construction, in line with our planning consent.” Blunder!
